Our client is building a suite of tools to help high-growth e-commerce brands grow even faster. Their focus is on creating a large suite of tools for Shopify, the go-to platform for e-commerce brands.

They are executing an ambitious strategy to build and acquire Shopify apps under a single software platform using shared resources creating the ability to cross-sell on apps within this ecosystem. This suite of tools will come in the form of a portfolio of Shopify apps that each solve a unique problem for the many innovative brands that utilize Shopify.They are also acquiring existing, high potential Shopify apps, improving them, and expanding them.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Ruby Software Engineer will work to design, implement, and support the needs of the growing stable of Ruby apps. Additionally, the role will involve evaluating apps that we are considering acquiring.

We are looking for individuals who will come in and show high cognitive ability, deep domain expertise, and excitement to help shape a strong team culture

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

● Contribute to and improve our growing suite of Ruby-based Shopify apps

● Contribute to technical diligence, integration, and evaluation of potential Ruby Shopify app acquisitions

● Create reusable tools and libraries to be used across apps and identify opportunities for centralizing common functionality

● Have tons of Startup energy

WORK EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:

● Comp Sci or related degree

● Worked as a full-time Software or Full-stack Engineer using Ruby

● Ruby on Rails

● React

● JavaScript, HTML, & CSS w/common libraries

● PostgreSQL or MySQL

● Git, GitHub, & Git workflows

● Comfort with the Linux command-line & common tools

● Shopify app development with Ruby a plus

● Shopify theme development with liquid a plus

● Exposure to other languages, frameworks, and stacks a plus

● Exposure to Docker & other modern dev/infra tools a plus

● Other e-commerce platform experience a plus

● Excellent English communication & problem solving skills a must
